The Letran community stood with the nation in prayer as the 2016 Philippine General Elections drew near.
Led by the Dominican Fathers of the Colegio last May 7, Letran offered up prayers and lit candles outside the campus, in the hopes of having a safe and fair elections.
The participants of the simple prayer event were members of the Letran Student Council.
Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Archbishop Socrates Villegas encouraged the Filipino people to participate in a nationwide candlelight ceremony and pray the Rosary in preparation for the national elections.
In compliance, Fr. Gerard Timoner III, the Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, urged Letran to join the Archbishop's call for prayer.
