Always ready to serve, the Letran Community Volunteers (LCV) lent a hand in the ‘Bantay Bata Count your Blessing Activity - Coin Bank Counting’ project of ABS – CBN last June 24.

Held at the ABS – CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. Visitors’ Center, select members from LCV counted coins from coin banks collected from various areas. They were also joined by other students from different universities, among others.

“The activity came into our notice through the site called iVolunteer,” said Juan Carlo Balagapo, a member of LCV. He shared that when they saw that volunteers were needed, they immediately decided to go and help.

“[The event] made us realize that a small act of kindness and volunteerism will bear fruits of goodness,” said Balagapo.

Bantay Bata 163 is a child welfare program launched in 1997 to protect disadvantaged and at-risk children through a nationwide network of social services. It includes the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and abused children, training and advocacy on child abuse prevention, rehabilitation of families in crisis, educational scholarships, livelihood, community outreach and medical and dental missions. *
