Letran, Unilab Discuss Industry-Aligned Job-Ready Pathways for Letranites

Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Unilab, through its educational arm, Unilab Education (UniEd), held a strategic meeting today, March 2, 2026, to discuss plans for an official partnership aimed at strengthening industry relevance and workforce readiness among Letran students.
The proposed collaboration centers on the co-creation of learning spaces and laboratories that will support priority academic programs, particularly STEM strand in Letran Senior High School, as well as Nutrition and Dietetics and Food Technology under the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), and selected engineering programs under the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT).
UniEd President Atty. Jose Maria A. Ochave represented Unilab Education, joined by Prof. Elyxzur Ramos, Ph.D., CESE, President of the University of Makati and Member of the Letran Board of Trustees. Representing Letran were Rev. Fr. Raymund Fernando P. Jose, O.P., Rector and President, Asst. Prof. John Carlo C. Timajo, MBA, Assistant Dean of CBAA; Assoc. Prof. Cristina De los Santos, Ed. D., OIC Dean of CEIT; and Ms. Geraldine Lagmay, MBIED, LPT, Senior High School Principal, Asst. Prof. Joy Chavez, MAT, Executive Assistant, and Instr. Carlo Macasero, MBA, Director, Alumni and Public Relations Department, together with other academic officials.
Discussions focused on developing integrated academic–industry pathways that will provide Letranites with career counselling, internship opportunities, diploma courses, and continuing programs for reskilling and upskilling toward enhanced employability.
Through the partnership, Letranites are expected to benefit from UniEd’s key focus areas, including industry certifications, microcredentialing, apprenticeship and on-the-job training, senior high school immersion, and skills-based continuing professional development programs, supporting a more seamless transition from education to employment.
The initiative aligns with UniEd’s demand-driven education model, connecting academe and industry to help ensure that Letran graduates are job-ready and responsive to evolving workforce demands.
