Intramuros, Manila – Colegio de San Juan de Letran continues to expand opportunities for future-ready education through a partnership with the IEEE Computer Society Philippine Chapter, the Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines (QCSP), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Program PROPEL. Formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the collaboration brings Quantum Roadshow Philippines – Leg 1 to the Colegio on August 17–18, 2026, making Letran the pioneering host institution for this year's nationwide initiative.

The two-day roadshow will introduce students, educators, and researchers to emerging developments in quantum technologies through expert lectures, interactive workshops, panel discussions, and collaborative learning sessions designed to prepare the next generation of innovators.

The Quantum Roadshow Philippines is a national knowledge-outreach initiative that aims to advance awareness, education, and collaboration in quantum technologies by bringing together international experts, academic institutions, government agencies, and industry leaders. Through the partnership, Letran students and faculty will gain valuable exposure to emerging fields such as quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum information science while participating in discussions that seek to strengthen the country's growing quantum ecosystem.

Representing the organizing partners, Mr. Macabebe emphasized the importance of the initiative, sharing that the Quantum Roadshow Philippines will provide meaningful opportunities for participants to understand why quantum education matters in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. He noted that while quantum technologies may still be unfamiliar to many, they are expected to shape the future of computing, communications, research, and innovation. Through the roadshow, students, educators, and researchers will be introduced to these emerging developments and encouraged to take part in building the country's future quantum workforce.

Echoing this vision, Rev. Fr. Raymund Fernando P. Jose, O.P., Rector and President, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership.

Addressing the student representatives in attendance, Fr. Jose shared that every partnership forged by the Colegio is established with one goal in mind—to create opportunities that prepare Letranites for the future.

"Every partnership that the Colegio enters into is for your benefit. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will make you future-ready and industry-ready," he said.

Recognizing that quantum education remains a relatively new field for many, Fr. Jose noted that exposing Letranites to emerging technologies is part of Colegio's commitment to innovation and academic excellence. He also expressed his gratitude to the IEEE Computer Society Philippine Chapter, the Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines, and DOST Program PROPEL for choosing Letran as the pioneering host institution of this year's Quantum Roadshow Philippines.

The roadshow will feature keynote lectures by internationally recognized IEEE Distinguished Speakers, a national landscape session on quantum education and research in the Philippines, an open forum on the future of quantum development, and a Quantum Education Gap Analysis Workshop. Insights gathered throughout the event will contribute to a national white paper that will help guide future policies and collaborative initiatives for quantum education and research in the country.
